The bond between players and their units is a priority – the troops should not be impersonal entities to you that can be thrown away in battle, but valuable comrades you ideally stick with throughout an entire match. Together with the familiar setting of World War II, which is closer and perhaps more relatable to the audience than those of its competitors, the series thus provides a certain groundedness and intimacy. But this strategy necessary to speed up the war and not turn into a stalemate.CoH aims to put its users right in the middle of the action and keep players’ attention focused on their units and the spectacle of battle. If you don't pay attention for 5 secs you can lose entire squad instantly. COH frustrating: grenades can be so deadly. You see this happen a lot and the game drags on forever. COH boring: happens when both sides have 2 tanks, some anti-tank artillery and some troops and neither side can push forward because they can slowly rebuild their tanks and control 50% of the map again etc. But your suppose to do the same to your opponent. AOE4 frustrating: constantly getting harrassed by knights and MAA in your farms and woodline can be very annoying mid to late game. AOE4 boring: sometimes games can turn into a stalemate until someone runs out of gold on the map, which can be a pretty tedious strategy to patiently wait out. COH is more about flanking, co-ordinating combined arms tactics and timing special abilities to get a slight edge for a big territory push against opponents army. AOE4 is more about harrassing opponents eco while consolidating a good army composition to counter opponents main army. There both casual strategy based.īoth have different META gameplay at high level: I would rather be good at 1 game and practicing only in that game, instead of being bad at both games because i'm splitting my time investment for both.īoth coh and aoe4 have similar player pool. But i also hate losing, especially if its because my opponent simply had a better understanding of the game because he specialize in only playing/studying one game only. I like playing 1vs1 because it feels amazing to outplay the opponent. I don't have the time to get good at both games.
